I have a steel John Deere dump cart that was thrown in when I bought my 430. I have never used it, and I want to get rid of it.

Wondering if anyone here has a good idea what it would bring on Craigslist. Based on what I've seen online, I would guess that I could get $200 for it, but I don't really know.

Maybe I should just wheel it out to the goat shed and park it. I can't think of a use for it, but as soon as I sell it, I'm sure I'll need it desperately.

If you park it chances are it’ll become a permanent mowing hazard and eventually rust out. My vote is sell it and move on. I personally have little to no use for a light duty off road trailer. You apparently don’t either.

It won't be a mowing hazard or rust collector in the goat shed; it will just annoy the cattle who now use it as a salt block bar. Other than that, I think you're right.

Maybe I could cut it up, throw out or repurpose the green sheet metal, and use the rest as some kind of trailer.

Someone asked for a photo. It's a steel cart. Small area of rust inside it. I'm not moving everything in the shop to get a good picture, but the photo shows what I have.

I guess no one wants these things, because the previous owner threw it in when I bought the tractor. Maybe if it had "John Deere" painted on one side and "Snap-On" on the other...

I'd say you may get $200 for it, one way to find out. I'm sure someone out there is looking for one instead of one of the plastic ones the big box stores sell now.

I'm going to look at the underlying hardware and see if I should get rid of the sheet metal and keep the rest. Two hundred bucks is not much money.

I guess the sheet metal could also be useful for projects.

I could turn it into a mobile smoker. That would be nice. That strikes me as a really good idea. I haven't had a smoker for two years.

Today I saw these things on Ebay for up to $700, but I have a feeling no one is buying them.

Click on "sold listings" and see what some of them sold for, if in fact they did sell. I do this quite frequently.

$120-150 tops. Stored outside it would be $50 around here.

Were the ebay ones the model 80? Those are the only ones around here that bring any big money. I doubt you will get $200, when guys can buy a new plastic one for less.
