Hey guys!

First post of many to likely come. My wife and I are buying a horse property and now need a tractor (our first!). I have been doing a lot of research and talking with other tractor owners, and think I know what we'll need for shredding, clearing an area for an arena, working the arena, and occasional driveway maintenance. I am hoping to buy a tractor this month and use the great financing Kubota has going on right now.

We have been quoted as low as $15,500 for an L2800 4wd with FEL. How does this compare to what others here have found? Fair price? Should we pull the trigger?

Thanks! :D

Local dealer here has weekly ads in thrifty nickel paper for $14,995 for L2800 4wd gear shift with loader.

Fairly close to what I was quoted -assuming a gear driven
One point to consider is the PTO will quit every time you clutch it. you said you'll be mowing. The Hydro has the Live PTO and that is why I chose it over the DT- for tilling, mowing etc i assumed that would be a nuisance to me and more wear and tear on the clutch and driveline etc
Location makes a lot of difference too- where you at:confused:
Best Wishes

I purchase L2800HST last year..no complaints other than 3pt hitch lever to close to seat.

That seem like fair price, also you may want to check out Kubota insurance.

Thanks for the replies, guys. It sounds like the number is pretty fair then. Yep, it is an HST - forgot to mention that. I am in Texas too, BTW.

From what I have read here, it sounds like getting the tires filled would be a good idea, and I may see if I can get a couple hooks welded on to the bucket also. Other than that, just a couple of the usual implements are needed for now.

"just a couple of the usual implements are needed for now"

Good size tool/chain box plus rear light.

There is a very small tool box right behind the seat. Is where you would mount an additional box? I would think a couple ammo cans on the rear fenders could work well too? A rear light is a good idea. The dealer is already throwing in loading the tires with water/windshield fluid and adding a couple hooks to the bucket. Maybe I could push for just a little more? :)

Thats where I mounted my ammo can but tad different.
1/4" angle iron bolted to roll bar, than attach safety to ammo box.
