Grocery shopping done.... for now anyway.
Checked the trees, only small patches on a couple trees, others are clean (for what I can see). They will get a soapy bath tomorrow.

Kyle, hope your son is OK, sounds good so far. Do the schools down your way use the new padded helmets? Our schools here adopted them starting this year. In the last 6 years, 2 kids have died from head injuries here.

Phil, as usual, beautiful turnings!

RNG, there has only been one centipede in the house.... and that was when we first moved in. Thank goodness!
They hide under things outside, doesn't matter what it is.
The Jerusalem crickets have been found while digging. Never saw them "out and about".

Never had a mouse in the house either. I've gotten a couple in the RV though.

Time for dinner: pulled smoke pork butt, rice pilaf, and smoked sweet taters.

Everyone have a quiet evening!

Drew - Don't forget to stop at In-N-Out for a burger in Cali! I think not doing so is considered a crime :)

Then RNG is going to have to take me to get one because my almost vegan sister sure won't...
as long as I keep losing weight, I'll keep enjoying my occasional burger.
most of what i eat is chicken or fish. Having fish tonight, box stuff but still fish, with a side of veggies and a salad.

You have to save some of those repairs for us to do here. Need to spread the fun!
I believe I can say with a high degree of confidence that something will be left to fix. My top priority is the transfer switch, if rng and I get nothing else done, that's the biggie. Actually there's only room for one person in that little area, once we figure out how to prop the bed up, so while he's working on that, I'll go change my rv engine oil. I know he's installing a pit under the driveway just for me..........

well, ok drive, lots of traffic on 80 near Salt Lake City, lots of steep hills/mountains again, 6 and 7 percent grades, for the first two hours, it was a salty wasteland, there were no trees on the mountains, no green anywhere, just brown. The flora of that area looks like Chernoble was there...

several hours West the green started again, some trees showed up and now it doesn't look so parched. 4.50 for Mobil regular here, I think I was robbed, should have gone across town. That will be a bargain when I fill up tomorrow in CA. Ka ching. Today was 130 bucks of gas, almost double normal

The scenery with the mountains continues to be amazing. And it's so desolate out here with oasis of civilization, like Elko, which has a lot going for it, along side the rather unimpressive Humboldt River.

I worked on the extraction plant for Freeport Gold back in the late 70's it was about 7 acres under roof. The directions to get too it were some what simple go 55 miles North of Elko, turn west for 5 or 7 miles that got you to the plant, the actual "mine" was another 5 miles west. That was a big open pit operation back then.
They had many stages of ball mills in series from huge ones to take the ore from the 50 Ton Euclids and then on down to water saturated one because the ore was powdered so fine it was an explosive dust, then many extraction pits. A lot of Instrumentation to run the facility.

This morning I’m sitting drinking coffee looking at Mr Chipmunk 🐿️ climbing on my truck tires ! Hope he is not going up into the engine compartment, that could end badly for him ! 😉
They are destructive little buggers. My truck is parked next to a rock wall and most of the hood insulation is missing lol. I’ve tried about every trick ever recommended from dryer sheets (I’ve found them in their nests) to peppermint oil and the little bags of cedar or something they sell at truck stops. The only thing I’ve found that consistently works is a Havahart trap and a pellet gun. Funny thing happened the other day at Wally World, when going back to the truck I saw a chipmunk scooting around the front wheel, he jumped up into an opening in the frame. I guess he came to the store with me but I did feel a bump on the way home lol.

Pineapple is on the menu for healing after surgery

Pineapple is the only food known to contain bromelain, an enzyme that helps your skin and tissues heal,” Zumpano shares. “Bromelain appears to produce substances that combat in pain and swelling.”

Consuming bromelain from pineapple might also help your skin heal after surgery or injury.

Hawaii's pineapple season is from March to July.
Costa Rica's pineapple season is from May to November.

96˚ HI 102˚. Summer is back. Water temp 86˚.

Garlic powder, paprika, everything bagel and jalapeños brought the flat bread to a whole nother level of savory tasting flat bread.

Bears
Thomas and Buppies, I just read an article sent to me from the NC Wildlife Resources Commission (I have a lifetime NC hunting and fishing license)...you know how bears stuff themselves this time of year to be ready for "hibernation?" These is a name for it..."hyperphagia."
So next time you get real hungry, instead of "I could eat like a bear" it's: "I'm in a hyperphagia mode."

I can see the waitress face now if I was to say that 🙄 I will give it try tho. ;)
