Good morning!!!!

My wife never yelled at me. But I am sure she had her ways of making me do it her way. Even today i do not have clutter that you will see when you enter my house, garage, shop or to barns. Just do not look in the 3 drawers in built in cabinets in dinning room. Almost to the point where I cannot find what is stashed in them. I have put it on the to do list today. Not much comes in paper work to me. I am almost totally digital. I do have the receipts from this year in a small basket. Will put those in a ziplock bag with this years date on it. Will put it in a file cabinet drawer. While there I will take out the ziplock from 2016 and burn it. My wife started this. Still works today.
We have 2 junk drawers in the kitchen. They are catch alls.
Good (Saturday) early arvo. Overnight Low of 15C and it's presently 25.6C, mostly overcast, calm and there was 13mm in the gauge at 0900.

Well, I wasn't going to mention it but today is one of those momentous days in my life that I thought I'd share it with my TBN Mates. Today (31st, NYE) is my 65th birthday and I'm surrounded by family & friends for the occasion... however, yesterday was my last day in the Royal Australian Navy (Reserve). All told, that's a bit over 47 years (Regular/Reserve) of Service.

Anyway, nothing is planned for today (glorious weather) apart from a restaurant dinner tonight and attempting to 'stay up' for midnight and the annual, worldwide, firework displays that mark the end of my BD.

That's about it, take care all and have a happy New Year.
Happy Belated birthday Wagtail!
50° this morning at 3 a.m. but going for a high of a sunny 70° today. And today is Margaret's 79th birthday. Our kids and grandkids are all supposed to be here this evening for a pizza/new year's/graduation/birthday party.LOL Granddaughter just finished high school. Things are different in this day and age. We used to all graduate or end school year at the same time at the beginning of summer. Now it seems the kids finish at different times.

Yep, everything's different now-a-days. Way back in ancient times before I retired from law enforcement we used to have a neighborhood New Year and Birthday party with 5 neighbors at our house every year. We had some wonderful and fun filled (and sometimes hilarious) times. I'll never forget the night it was so cold and icy that the sidewalks were iced over and a little after midnight when everyone was leaving to go home, the lady who lived 2 doors south of us said she wasn't taking any chances of falling on the ice, so she just got down on her hands and knees and went across the yard next door to her house (second house south of us). And no, she had not been drinking.

Incidentally . . . that lady is the last of our old neighbors still living in that same house. She celebrated her 94th birthday last week.
Happy belated birthday to your wifey Margaret! Hope y'all had a great party.

I’ve had the Makita 18v cordless for many years, the corded ones haven’t come off the shelf since I got it.

I use my corded one. Batteries in my dewalt cordless don’t hold a charge any more.

Not a bad first day of retirement, so guess I’ll try it again tomorrow.
Got weather station online.
My mailbox monitor stopped working Saturday, need to troubleshoot it now. I verified WiFi unit is connected to my Starlink, so will check outdoor sender on side of mailbox.
Also my web energy logger that monitors my geothermal stopped working the 23rd and still don’t know why. I think last time this happened I had to have it reflashed. It’s old, so not easy.
Ordered new LED light fixture for above sink, and 2 more UPS batteries.
Got 5 months of digital pictures labeled and organized, now caught up to this month. Will back those up tomorrow.
Need to start jotting down list of things to do as I think of them. Need to tackle the garage and basement. I found another old trip lite UPS in the garage. I tried it, won’t even turn on. Will pull batteries and trash it.
I got many old UPS batteries to get rid of. After next one gets batteries I ordered, I still got 2 to replace batteries in.
I want to redo and clean up my basement Ethernet and switches.
Also rewire my energy monitor and add to it.
Also repair 2 geothermal flow pumps to have as spares.
No shortage of work.
Need to get the cracked tractor hub replaced also.

Good morning, the low temp is 29 and the high? will be 28°F. Wind NE11 mph. Light snow. 1/2" so far. More tonight and tomorrow.

I think today might be an energy conservation day.

Have a safe day all

good morning all
another foggy morning with rain this afternoon, but super warm, up to low 60's.
My garden bulbs are getting confused, they are starting to pop out of ground.
They will be in a cold surprise soon.

school board meeting tonight, not much else planned.
now to check my powerball tickets............after my first coffee

   / Good morning!!!! #162,199
drum roll
I won the Powerball!
well....I picked the powerball number right.
I think I get 4 bucks, maybe 8.
a positive trend for sure....
of course the tickets cost me 12
first time ever won a penny
didn't go off...so back down to buy another and stroll up to the
cashier for my big payoff.!

I don't gamble at all, my faith disapproves of it, surely my financial planning background does...
but when the powerball goes over 400M, I buy tickets

Coffee is brewing. 44° with fog this morning. Heading to 52° with rain. Did not get new router installed yesterday. Waiting for 1 more part to install. Did print manual. One supplied with router was so small I could not read it with a magnifying lens. Did a conserve energy day. Going to do same today. Found a mouse in trap this morning. There has not been any action with them since before Christmas. Put fresh peanut butter on all 3 trap I have out.
Sandhill Cranes like the warm weather. They are back at feeders.

Buckeye, remember Roy tried retirement for awhile. Didn't work for him. He went back to work. More organized day plans. Be careful working at mail box. A long time family friend died when a car hit him while at his mailbox just before Christmas.

Mostly, it's like the Cardinals that visit my feeders. They are never together.

Everyone stay safe and well.

Good Morning All.
