It seems that an introduction is needed. I am a John Deere fanatic, my brother got me started. We do garden tractors, he has a few, 316, 318 etc. and I have a few, 185, 212 and a few 111's.

I have a problem with a LX155, it's my sisters and the brake spring, (not the actual brakes but the belt adjuster) came out and I'm not certain how it fits back in. The keeper came out of the pin and the pin came out and the spring as well so I am not certain how the spring goes back in. I can get it in but then it does not seem to do what I think it is supposed to as in keep the tension on the deck belt. Does anyone have one of these that can show me an image of how it goes? It is the Freedom 42 deck.

The more I think about it, and maybe one of you can help, the part I am working with may be the blade brake. That's the part I don't know, but how the spring is supposed to be in there is what I'm confused about. Maybe if I look again with the thought that it is supposed to drag the pulley to stop the pullet when the blades are disengaged.
Any ideas or thoughts on this?
