Good candidate for Aux PTO mod

Saw these Prince cable controls on Surplus Center while I was researching wheel motors. You could mount one of these on the left side of the steering wheel and run a push-pull cable over to the Aux PTO valve without a whole lot of work...

Note that you can mount the handle on these so that the cable is pushed/pulled either vertically or horizontally.

I moved my Aux PTO control over to the left side of the steering wheel using a "shade-tree engineered" mechanical linkage. This would be much easier. Having it over there so you can use it with your left hand is great for use with the grapple bucket, but most imporatantly the minihoe. It allows you to contol three different movements simultaneously...

So, how would this rig up? I have been trying to master the PT minihoe shuffle with the standard rig and either I need to build a switched system on the control but that is going to be $600 or if this is a simple hookup it could be pretty darn cool and work just as well.....

You'd likely have to drill three holes in the PT's dashboard. You'd likely need two small ones on the left side of the instrument panel to mount this control. Then, you'd need to drill a larger one (about a 1/2" one) on the right side of the dashboard, just left of the joystick and directly above the Aux PTO valve. See how my mechanical one connects in the pics below.

You'd need a short push-pull cable that would go from the control handle, across the front of the dash and down through the hole to control the Aux valve. The most difficult parts of the mod would likely be (a) removing the current handle -- it's a pain -- I had to loosen the valve bodies from the dash to get a small cotter pin out and (2) drilling that hole on the right down through 3/8" inch (at least on the PT-425) steel.

That Surplus Center link up above shows the installation kits and cables to hook up to Prince valves. I'd assume they'd work on the Sauer-Danfoss valves just as well -- but you don't need cables nearly as long. See the related items on the right margin.

I think some of the loaders for traditional tractors that position the joystick on the fender near the driver's right hand use these cables to connect to valves that are mounted on the loader frame in the more typical location.
