Tractor
Kubota L2650/Ford 3930
I don't like asking the question of what's it worth, but I'm going to anyway. I think I've sold my Kubota compact tractor, so now I'm gonna try to sell my 3930. I'm moving so everything must go! (kinda sounds like those furniture commercials). Anyway, I had a rough time selling the Kubota because I believed the blue book value and the market just won't pay what the book says it's worth. I know every market is different, but in my neck of the woods used tractors are not selling well at all.

I have a 1997 ford 3930 2wd standard trans. with turf tires. Only 700 hours. Everything is in good shape tires are good, no mechanical problems. Don't know where to start. I gave $9500 for it last year and I thought I got a good deal. What do you guys think. (I hate selling stuff)

Since we're on the subject I'm selling a NH 268 square baler, and a NH S55 rake too. Don't know what they'll bring, but I haven't gotten many calls from the ads in the paper. I have the baler at $1500 and the rake at $500.

Thanks

Is a consignment sale possible. I know my NH dealer takes used equipment on consignment and resells for a percentage. That might be a better solution if you have a local dealer who is interested in that kind of arrangement.

I'm actually looking to sell my TC 21 and buy a bigger tractor. The only things that would concern "me" is that I was wanting 4WD and turf tires would not work for what I would be using it for. I would need AG tires.
As for the value of your tractor I'm no expert. I only can look at eBay and other tractor sites to see what they are asking, but that tells me nothing as to what they are selling for. Only eBay will do that, and I saw a couple on there but they had FELs or other equipment included.
When you figure out an asking price let me know and I may want some pics and more detailed info. How far north are you from Nashville, TN? I'm in the Memphis area.
Here's one I saw on Equipment Trader:

If you got a 3930 for 9500$.. then you got a steal. 3910 go for 8500-9500 in my area.. and most 3930 go up to 11500.. The 2wd hurts the value a tad.. though not much.

If you are looking to get your initial investment of 9500$ out of it.. I'd say you should have no problem.. or at least down here where I live you wouldn't. The 39XX series tractor is popular down here.. obviously with the 30 being better thant he 10..etc.

( another nice tractor that I only rarely see is the 3010s.. I almost bought one once.. nice looking machine.. strong and spartan.. )

good luck..

If that's the case, advertise your tractor in Soundguy's area and once sold, have the buyer arrange shipping.

Soundguy- Why are some people getting out of hay in Fla? I heard they are in a drought condition- are things REALLY bad there?

jlbash1- PM me with some pictures, I may know someone here in Ohio who is interested in the equipment (private owner- not a dealer).

At least it's not just me, I have had a Kubota I've been trying to sell for over a year, and just sold it this past Friday at nearly $2000 under book.

I thought maybe this spring would be better than last for the used equipment market, but it's not.

deereguy,

Don't have any pics right now, but i'll get some.
