Going to look at a B2601 on Saturday morning Anything to inspect carefully?

Less than 300 hour, 10 years old. Pictures do not make it look beat up,

The asking price is what they cost new then. OBRO.

I want to move up from the 2wd B7200 HST that gets "yard and garden duty", but do NOT want a larger tractor . The B2601 is only 3 inches longer! ;-)

I bet I'm going to miss the two speed PTO, But I won't miss the abruptness of the 3pth lift speed of the B7200.

I miss the 2 speed pto on my old B8200 also. Like old school ePTO.
The B2601 enjoys a good reputation, and that's a low hour machine for sure. Cost when originally new is generally a fair asking price for a GOOD condition machine, without any issues. Start subtracting from that.
I like to know the machine I'm looking at and ask maintenance related questions to see how knowledgeable the seller is. I check all the fluids, filters (hours written on is a good sign), grease points, all gears / hst, hydraulic operation, smoking after startup, dynamo voltage, etc

I like to bring a roll of paper towels for fluid condition evaluation. ;-)

I would check for how much plastic and alum might be in it's contruction. I like taking a good magnet along when looking at anything these days. What is the hydro casing made of, things like that.

Not much. They are a great solid little tractor made of steel. They are one of the best Kubota's they make as far as simple reliability that can work well above their weight class.

As far as stuff to check, at 300 hours it's still pretty new. Just look for signs of abuse, how the fluid's looks, ask how many services it has had, answer should be at least two. 50 hour and 200 hour.
And take it for a ride and make sure hydro works okay. These models have next to none hydro whine.

I think you will be very happy with it CalG.
Light enough to be a good lawn mower and strong enough to do real work.
And no electronics or emissions stuff, just simple and reliable.
I couldn't do without mine. (mine is just the older version)
