GM is bringing back the "Kodiak" style 4500/5500!

The biggest Chevy Silverado ever is on the way next year I always kind of liked the body style especially the tilt hood though it does not look all that easy to access the engine in photos I have seen. Anyway, if I hit the lottery, lol, perhaps I will buy one. They were never inexpensive. I don't imagine that will change.

Just to be clear, the photo in the article shows the discontinued model that hasn't been built for years. As far as I can tell, no photos of the new truck have been released.

I always thought GM missed the boat with the KODIAK. Ram had 4500 and 5500 and Ford 450 and 550 that looked like the smaller trucks. The company that i worked for used the Kodiaks for a few years and had nothing but trouble with them. I never like the external looks or the layout inside the Kodiak but of course, this is only my opinion and to each his own.

It is true GM is bringing back the med duty line in the smaller scale, same as the 450/550 or Ram 4500/5500, Chevy only, no GMC. The prototype that was shown in Vegas in the spring had a front tilt hood fender combo. GM has really been missing this market, and the funny thing is Ford can't/won't produce enough, and Chrysler won't get out of their own way and push this market like they should. GM is going to really make a push with this.

Interesting that it will be Chevy only. If anything, it seems it would fit the “Professional Grade” GMC line better if only using one brand. It again makes me wonder why GM does not do away with GMC or just make all trucks and SUV’s GMC and not duplicate trucks and SUV’s with the Chevy brand.
