Disconnect the battery( safety concerns but not mandatory), disconnect the electrical wires (or copper bars)from the top of glow plugs and then remove from engine. It's usually a good idea to use compressed air and clean the area around the plugs before you remove them so as not to allow dirt to enter the engine. Simple and straight forward operation.
