I know that I have posted before about the 7520, but I would still request any up-dates from those of you who are using this model.

Now that you have put it throught it's paces and have some hours on the machine, how you like it? What do you not like now?

Thank you so very much.

Believe it or not, I do have to work once in a while.;)

OK, there are a few things that I don't care for on my 7520.

#1 The draw bar is to low, but I believe that flaw has been rectified in newer models.

#2 The cowl head lights are pretty much worthless, don't aid in being able to see and have burned out twice, don't need to hit me over the head 3 times, no need to replace them again.

As far as my tractor, that is it as far as design flaws. Now I have had the radiator over flow bottle crack:( and I replaced that and the steering actuator had a nut come loose and I had a bad oil leak from that. But I just tracked the source down and tighten the nut, No more leak.

Now Mahindra has changed a few things regarding the new 7520. Some of the stuff that was standard on mine is now an option.:( The pto is now 1 control lever instead of 2, and I think that the tractor is a few inches longer to accommodate the newer style engine.:) I have not kept up with all the tractors to date, but when I bought mine back when they had first come out and I believe that even today( but not positive) I would gladly put a Mahindra 7520 up against any other make and model of the same horse power to see which tractor is stronger and can do the most work. I don't think that you can find one that will do more, maybe as much, but not more.

In your search, look for a tractor that fits you, what I am trying to say is find a tractor where the controls are in a natural location for you to use and the tractor is comfortable to sit on. Enough of my rambling, these are all just my opinions and they don't count all that much.:D

I have 230 hrs on my 7520 and have enjoyed every minute. I have never owned a tractor before so really can't do any experienced comparisons. I can say I looked at several makes of tractors in this HP range and IMHO, Mahindra was the best. For me it finally came down to Kubota vs Mahindra. I picked Mahindra due to price, frame mounted backhoe, standard equip, weight, loader and backhoe capability, 0% interest, more forward/reverse gears, and prob some other stuff. So far, I have very few problems that I didn't cause myself.

Good things: Mahindra Company (Corporate) was very responsive and I could get in touch w/them easily--in that regard it was the best service I have ever experienced. If they keep that up, they will go far! Tractor seems very strong and versatile. It is fairly simple to work on (even I can do a lot of the work). Skid steer loader attachment (some tractors have their own proprietary attachment mechanism). Frame mounted backhoe--much more capable than others. Telescopic lower links on 3 pt. dual rear remotes.

Problems: horn doesn't work (should be able to get fixed under warranty). Manual isn't comprehensive enough for me, backhoe seat mount was hitting against dual hyd remotes (fixed promptly by Mahindra after I notified them). Can't think of anything else that I didn't cause myself.

Some things I would have liked: fuel filler lower (fixed on newer models); underbelly protection (skid plates to protect on fuel/hyd/elect lines underneath)--could be sold as options; more comprehensive owner/service manual; free Mahindra shirt and hat (for you Mahindra reps--that would be free advertising for you--cheap way to compete against all the JD stuff folks wear expecially since it would be made in India--feel free to pay me for that suggestion--and I have more); complete line of implements; simpler way to turn off service indicator (and put procedure in manual).

The light switches on my 6520 (same on 7520) are a little hard to reach.
Let's see. I have a black Mahindra cap made in China, a RED Mahindra cap made in Vietnam. A Mahindra RED button down cotton long sleeve shirt made in Eygpt. A Mahindra long sleeve t shirt made in Haiti. A Mahindra fleece jacket made in China. A Mahindra coffee mug made in China, A Mahindra key ring made in China. Nothing from India.
hugs, Brandi

Thanks for all the reports to this point. I do not wish to be obnoxious by asking so much....I'm just ahhh prudent, just that must be it.

Brandi, how is your 6520 doing? It is close enough that I'd appreciate your like/dislike lists. Was the hard to reach light switch it?

Thanks

Fastgun,
My 6520 is awesome. I must admit, I thought I researched what I wanted well enough when I chose the 6520. I knew the 7520 had a turbo and was, I think, $2-3000 more. I really should have bought the7520 for the 17 gpm hyd. pump. If I could put a 17 gpm pump on my 6520 I would. That is all I would change. The 6520 has more than enough power for what I need. Only warranty work has been on the backhoe (new bushings) and a slight seep of the steering cylinder line. I think that was just a loose line fitting.
I think most of all I like is the easy on and off I have with the 6520. Also I love the tilt steering wheel foot lever. I use it a lot while clearing brush. I have been rough with the ML275 loader clearing brush and moving stumps and it keeps taking the abuse. Beef up the bucket with a 3/8" angle on top and 3/8" sideplates. I should have done that. Now they are bent and will cost more welding the angle and plates on now. When you buy, get the Skid Steer quick attachment option. You won't regret it. Also get the aluminum canopy so you can mount extra lights to the canopy mounting angle.
