I JUST STARTED USING MY NEW JD 1025 TRACTOR WITH 54" BLOWER AND HAVE DIFFICULTY GETTING BLOWER IN "FLOAT" POSITION, BUT INSTEAD AM LIFTING FRONT END OFF GROUND. ALSO BLOWER CHUTE TURNS ONE DIRECTION TOO FAR AND NOT FAR ENOUGH THE OTHER DIRECTION. MANUAL SAYS TO LOOSEN 2 SCREWS AND TIGHTEN CABLES? ANY ONE HAD SIMILAR EXPERENCES WITH THIS EQUIPMENT? THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN OFFER

James, When lowering snowblower if you push the joystick forward more beyond the lowering point the hydraulics will go into "float" mode. The joystick will stay there till you move it back. You need to continue thru the point of lowering or else it will raise the front wheels off the ground.

I have not had to adjust the chute rotation. But it sound like the cable wrap is not centered with the chute position. I'm sure if you look more closely at it you will see the adjustment needed.

It can take some practice at first. I've had my 2720 almost two years and sometimes still lift the front end when going into float. With the engine off, get a feel for what the float detent feels like to engage and disengage. Start the engine and lower the blower until it is just touching the ground. Then, quickly push the lever forward into the float detent. This will help avoid lifting the front of the tractor off the ground or having the blower slam to the ground.

There is a detent at the end of the lift arms down.

You have to push or snap the lever more forward to engage the float.

Some valves spools will be stiff until they get a lot of use.

I got mine into float for the first time the other day after 4 years of owning it. It isn't easy as you have to push it fairly hard until it snaps to the float position. As J.J. suggested, I am thinking in time it will go in easier.

THANKS TO ALL WHO RESPONDED TO MY "FLOATING" PROBLEM. I WAS ABLE TO PUT ALL TO GOOD USE THIS MORNING. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME USING THE BLOWER AND I AM GETTING THE HANG OF IT AFTER USING A JD GT 235 AND 48" BLOWER THE LAST 8 YEARS. THE SNOW WAS WET AND HEAVY THIS MORNING BUT WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE NEW RIG. I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE HAD A FEW PLUGS WITH THE OLD UNIT. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE AND THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP!

How did it throw the snow?
There are mixed reviews on the 54" with the plastic impeller.

IT WAS A VERY WET SNOW AND HANDLED IT VERY EASILY. YOU MUST BE SURE YOU HAVE IT AT FULL THROTTLE. MY MAIN CONCERN NOW IS THE SKID MARKS IT IS LEAVING ON THE BLACKTOP.

Don't know. I found the 1025's "float" position unbelievable easy to get to. The float on the 410 loader was a bit more difficult to learn. Maybe because I learned it so well, the 1025's was easy.
