This will be my first winter with my used Kubota 4330.

Any suggestions or tips to get it ready for the upcoming cold and snow

This will be my plow vehicle on a half mile gravel/dirt driveway in Central Vermont, so I want to do any preventative maintenance now before I need to do emergency repairs when it is below freezing.

I am planning on adding power service to every talk of fuel I put in and getting a block heater to install from
The dealer.

Any other ideas for me?

Thanks

I have a Kubota L4400. During all seasons, I do a routine daily check before using my tractor. To prepare for winter conditions, I take these additional steps. I lubricate all the zerks on my machine including those on the FEL. Be sure to check the play in your brakes and clutch. Check the tension on belts. Check your battery, battery connections and cables. Check the antifreeze level. Check your oil and hydraulic levels. Check all the hoses. Check the air in both front and rear tires. Check to see if the 3-point is operating poperty. BTW, I use Diesel Fuel Supplement + Cetane Boost - Power Service. I also keep my tractor and implements under shelter. Please be sure to allow ample time for your tractor to warm up before operating. I also keep an assortment of extra fuses handy. Most of all, please be careful and don't take chances. Best wishes.

I agree with creek. Just do all of the routine maintenance. If you keep it inside keep a good battery maintainer on it. If it is not near power your may want to top it off once a month.

I always give mine a good wash once I'm done logging to get all the mud off of it. Otherwise it will freeze and be a pain. Things like grease fittings, valve stems, etc are not easy to get at in the winter and trying to remove frozen mud just make it that much harder.

A good wash and wax will protect your tractor from road salt and the snow will slide off of it. Don't forget to wax the wheels, it makes a big difference in deep snow. I also recomend a Battery Tender Jr. I use them all year round on all my toys and my batteries last 6 times longer.

Creekbend, that's good advice.

It sounds as though you will be using the tractor over the winter rather than letting it sit...But...if it's a gear/clutch machine and it's going to sit for more than month or so...it is advised to disengage the clutch and block it with a chock to prevent rusting/seizing etc...
