I'm wondering if a person can add more than one extension to the screw drive Genie garage door lifts? I installed one on our 9' door with one extension. Even with the one extension it seems to lift it closer to 8 1/2 foot. I have a 12' door and if I added two extensions it would lift high enough. I'm impressed with how smooth and quiet it is compare to the old chain units.

Yes you can add more than one extension. I have two 10' doors and added two extensions per door. I placed each extension between the long rails so they wouldn't be all together. I also made a brace midway on the new longer rail and screwed it to the rafter above to help support it.
I did have to add wire to the "down" limit switch to make it reach.
