Gempler's-Above and Beyond: Transfer Pump

Wow. Still shakin' my head on this one. Yesterday (Sunday evening late)-was catching up on my e mail and noticed a Gempler's message. I had not shopped with them for well over a year or more. They don't discount much and the prices are higher than say Northern generally. Anyways advert says "We want you back! 20% off your order and $1.00 shipping. Expires at midnight!"

Thinking..hmmmm..what do I need that will be worth the hassle.... Oh I know: Need that Fill-Rite transfer pump that always seems to be costly enough to never pull the trigger on. These are the basic units and I want one to fuel the Kioti from a drum.

Ok it is $276.00 at Gempler's and I check and it is ~$259.00 at Northern. Northern hardly ever runs free shipping and you really have to work hard to catch something you need there on sale.

OK-what the heck-I try the Gemplers promotion code and Bingo- $220.80 for the pump and a buck for shipping. So I added an automatic nozzle (comes with manual one) and a Mr. Filter 5 GPM and got 20% off on both of those too and still a buck for shipping total.

Now here is the real kicker: I placed this order last night (Sunday) at 11:50 PM. Went to bed, got up, went to work and the order was delivered at 6:15 PM Monday evening as I returned home. A mere 18 hours later! And it came by special delivery service from Grainger. Gempler and grainger must be the same company???

This was less than 24 hour service-20% off and $1.00 shipping.:thumbsup:

Going to have to wait now another year and a half for them to beg again-Ha Ha

Well if Grainger owns Gempler's that explains the high prices:laughing:

A division of Grainger did buy the direct marketing part of Gempler's back 2003.

I think alot of these companies are hurting- all of a sudden I keep getting $5 off of ANY purchase cards from Northern Tool ....even a $5 purchase which of course equals FREE.
They also include a $20 off a $100 purchase card. I guess they are hoping customers will buy more than $5 worth on those cards. Not me I have used 3 of the 4 on $5 purchases...but they'll get me today with the $20 card..need a new battery charger. My Vector died, gonna try one of the Schumachers...Vector has changed hands several times recently, not sure I want to trust them right now...
