I did a search in TNB for comments on this brand but found little. I understand it is primarily a west coast brand. It is the brand one dealer I am talking to listed in the package quote with a tractor I am considering. Does anyone have any experience with this brand that might be helpful. I can go to other brands, of course. Attachments listed are BB66 scraper, D40 PHD, L72-40 cutter. The implements will not typically be getting heavy use but I want them to last. (The FEL would be a 723, or Woods 1012 depending on which tractor I selected).

Ron, I've 2 Gearmore implements, a middle buster and a flail mower/shredder. Both are solid, virtually indestructible, and work well. I'd love to have more Gearmore implements. I think the distributor is Southern Cal. I've seen Gearmore at the New Holland, Kubota and Deere dealerships. Best of luck.

I have a gearmore brushhog, that according to the previous owner of my tractor was on the tractor when he bought it 8 years ago. It does not look pretty, but all of the mechanicals are in perfect working order. I, nor the previous owner have had any problems with it.

Clint.

Gearmore is who makes my boxscraper. It was a less expensive alternative to the Gannon (aka Woods). It is built almost as good as the Gannon, but the hydraulic ripper assembly is where they saved a few extra dollars on the build quality. The ram is smaller, the locking mechanism less robust. Everything else is comparable. It may be a choice for some things, but for things like a brush cutter, I think I would consider the Brush Hog brand or other brands like Landpride, Woods etc. I have a Landpride finnish mower that is built very sturdy where it needs the beef. It weighs half as much as my Woods brush cutter but is actually holding up better and has more time on it. I use it primarily for grasses but have also plowed down small saplings and shredded cuttings from trees with it. The blades are still straight and true but almost have no "wing" left, the part of the blade that lifts the grass and helps evenly discharge it out the back. Any dirt or sand will eventually make the wing so thin they will need replacing. Rat...

P.S. where did you finally get your tractor?

I thought I posted this information before but not sure search will find it.

I purchased a gearmore post hole digger one weekend from a tractor supply store near san diego. I had been looking for one for a while and found one I liked on a road trip with the family (what, doesn't EVERYONE stop at every tractor store they see on the road?). The dealer had one he wanted to part with but did not have the 9 inch bit I wanted for planting 4x4 fence posts. It turned out that the gearmore headquarters / warehouse was on my way home so I bought the implement from the dealer and he aranged for me to pick up the bit on the way home.

His arangement worked perfectly and the bit fit inside the minivan along with the post hole digger, wife and 3 kids and a weeks worth of luggage. I also had a chance to talk to the only person with a tie I could find there. He (western regional sales representative) confirmed what I had heard before.

Gearmore is a distributor. Nothing more. Nothing less. They buy equipment from a manufacturer and sell it. Sometimes they do nothing more than paint it yellow as they did with my post hole digger. Sometimes they have it made to their specifications. Either way, they are nothing more than a distributor. I can attest that the Danuser post hole digger is a nice piece of equipment. The cheap yellow gearmore paint comes off real easy but the danuser paint sticks pretty good. I can not say anything about the products I have not used.
