gearcase material

anyone know what the gearcase is made out of? wondered if it was aluminum or a cast aluminum or such. i have a b7800 think i have a tiny crack started

Don't know about that model, but I'm told the current B models have their rear ends made out of some kind of aluminum alloy. It was one of my bigger concerns really, but I still ordered a B2650. Hope I don't regret it.

Get a magnet on it. If it sticks, it's cast iron. If not, then it's cast aluminium.
