Well I saw a set of gear reduction wheels on the local craigslist, and was wondering do you guys think it they would fit on my 5240?

I did a engine swap a while back but all my power is up in the higher throttle so even in low low its a bit to much when I'm doing a bunch of snow.

There are some "qualifications" to mount GRWs without modifications,,, tractor cannot have splined axles, axle flanges have to have the GRW mounting stud holes. Most 5000 series machines have splined axles. I've never seen a Swiftmatic that has the mount holes. They can be mounted with serious modifications though.

I have seen a few guys with swiftmatic transmissions swap out the standard 8 lead gearset with a 6 lead and slow the machine down, if your running 18" diameter tires you can also go down to 16" diameter tires and slow it a 1/4 to 1/2 mph.
