I'm trying to improve my implement storage . . . is there a way to use the front loader to lift and move the MF2360 snowthrower? I have a long chain and can readily move 3-point implements this way, but it's not so obvious with the 2360. FYI, I keep the subframe/quickhitch attached to the snowthrower.

I moved mine that way. It did have the accoutrements removed.

Sure...It's much easier than taking the FEL off, I just moved mine last week by tipping it into the FEL and lifting it into place.

I'm setting up my new garage to store the implements out of the weather, anyone have any ideas to build a storage unit for the blower up off the floor?

I keep the subframe attached to mine and use the loader to move it all the time.

With the blower on the ground I approach with the bucket level and hook the cutting edge under the lip of the subframe that sets on the tractor frame and then put a couple of pieces of 2x4 under the back edge of the bucket and then curl the bucket back- only lifting it far enough to have clearance to move with and drive slowly. You will want to have some ballast on the back of the tractor as this is getting close to the limits of the loader by the time you take into account the extra leverage.

If you have a smooth, hard floor... I use a few of those steel 4-wheel car dollies for use under the tires. Works very well for me, both for the blower and other heavy things. I keep the quick-hitch sub-frame business on a separate dolly.

Those dollies --a set of 4-- can be had from Northern Tool pretty reasonably when they're on sale.

Are you trying to move it to higher storage rack or something? Have you thought about adding forks to your bucket?

50 lashes for hijacking Scott's thread, but in my case, Yes, I would like to store it above higher, maybe 3 or 4 ft. to enable more floor space. Forks would help, but I doubt I'd use them much otherwise.

Go ahead Scott and answer, sorry to cut in.

Guys, thanks for the tips. Porky69's idea of curling the bucket edge underneath the subframe hanger lip, with wood blocking to help with the angle, sounds like the easiest.

After my post I looked at the manuals and looked again at everything, and found that it is indeed easy to take the subframe off the snowthrower. That leaves a stouter bottom surface closer to the center of mass of the thrower for putting the bucket under, which I thought would be necessary for lifting it with the bucket in a conventional way, but it sounds like Pixguy finds that unnecessary, and can do it with subframe attached anyway.

For now my snowthrower is in its resting place for the summer. After I put it there I realized it was sitting where I intended to put the loader in the winter, hence my trying to figure out now how I was going to avoid detaching and attaching the loader twice this fall.

I forgot to add for irvingj's benefit--I'm well aware of his elegant solution of using a dolly for holding and moving his snowthrower around. I am not storing my tractor stuff inside the garage--it's in a gravel-floored carport. For me, getting the implements and tractor out of the rain, snow and most sunlight is babying enough . . .

Oops! Forget the dolly idea on gravel!:ashamed:

I see your point! I got lucky- waited 18 years before I could afford to build a garage... now I'm glad I have it! Too many times changing oil on my old Blazer whilst lying on the gravel/snow/ice, etc! Now, I can even use a creeper!
