Buying Advice GC2400TLB or GC2600TLB

OH BOY, what to buy massey is offering $1,500.00 off for cash sale, my dealer is offering an additional $500.00 on new 2010 GC2400TLB or 2600TLB first is the so called 2.5hp worth it for the additional $500.00?? $18,400.00 GC2400TLB $18,995.00 for GC2600TLB. Or a used 2400TLB with 51 hours for $13,500.00 needing the $500.00 50 hour service putting cost at $14,000.00 and dealer wants $200.00 more for bring to my home no tax. used one had 4 months left on warranty. this will be my 1st tractor and I hope I love it and will be my last. Just unsure what to do ????? dealer don't seem to care what I do, or if I buy from them,they are very nice, but I tried to do my homework, I just can't seem to make up what I should do, HELP !!!!!!!!!

Just so your clear the TLB is a 2410 or 2610.

prices are before $2,000.00 0ff so GC2400 TLB cost prior to 6% tax would be $16,400.00, its about $3,500.00 more for new over used unit.

I live in Connecticut, The #1 state in TAXES about 30 mins from Massey dealer.

I will use tractor to move and spread dirt, dig holes for planing trees, and push snow around the driveway, bury leaves and grass clipping:thumbsup:

I doubt you would notice the 2.5 HP difference. Those TLBs are so small that it would be difficult to use the power.

Spreading dirt and pushing snow your biggest issues will be traction and the amount of dirt that you can move in a trip.

For digging holes the limits will be the stability of the TLB (sliding around) and the strength of the hydraulics.

If you could get a heavier model or a larger model that is likely a worthwhile investment. But I can not see where a horsepower increase would benefit you.

I've got the 2310 TLB: earlier model, but engine is the same as the 2410. I've never had any need --yet-- for more power. If I were to go new, I'd save some $$ and get the 2410.

BruceWard makes a good point, however- these SCUTs are relatively light, and will slide around easily when working the backhoe; it takes some practice to be able to use them effectively.

On the other hand, I find my little beast will fit everywhere I need it to, and then some! (I've even loaned it to a contractor pal a couple of times for that reason- it fits where larger ones won't.)

If you have enough space and backhoe work to justify it, the M-F 1500 series tractors might merit a look-see. (I've been drooling over those for a while, but....)

so what do I do guys used 2400 would cost me $14,200.00 to my door,only 6 moutns left on warrarnty or new 2400 with tax to my door would cost me $17,384.00,two year bumper to bumper warranty is in worth $3,200.00 for new, I could buy a John Deere 2305 loader back hoe for $17,400.00 however I found out John Deere just discontinued the 2305 and I don't think I want a new unit thats been discontinued ???? guys who own these: machines do they work and do the jobs you give them? are these tractors a good price for what you get?
