Greetings! I have a GC2400 and I went to start it and it only clicks. I hear the fuel pump going (ticking sound), all of the basics are in neutral PTO, Trans, etc. The battery is at full charge....it only has 139 hrs on it. It clicks like it's trying to engage the starter only after waiting 5 seconds between tries. If I try rapidly to start it, it doesn't click. Any ideas???

So is the click you hear when you turn the key to the start postion or when you first turn the switch on.

The click is when I turn the key all the way to the right. The sound comes from the front of the engine, l think at the starter

Most of these newer tractors come with so many interuptions between the key switch and the starter, that quite often the signal voltage at the starter solenoid is less than needed. Try removing the signal wire from the solenoid and using a jumper with straight battery voltage to see if the starter will crank that way. If it does, you probably have low signal voltage and will have to troubleshoot.

These almost always end up being some interlock switch being open.

There is probably a lever in the wrong place.

Or the seat switch is not closing.

Some 2300's have had a wire break off the back of the ignition switch, causing this kind of problem.

You could check that, to rule it out.
