Had this happen twice in the cold weather. Machine is kept in a non-heated garage. I usually let it is idle for 5 minutes before shutting off the engine. Next day throttle lever won't move. Squirted some WD40 behind the dash were cable goes into the sheath. After an hour it moves ok ........ any one else having the same issue ?

Yup, when its as cold as it is it'll happen. Usually letting it warm up for 20-25 min will warm it enough to work properly. Moisture in the cable. It can be dried and prevented if you care to take it out.

Kinda on the same note - bought an old 1957 John Deere 420. This thing sat outside for 10 years with no hood on. The choke cable works fine.

They dont make em like they use too :) I have a 3 year old 33" snowblower and the deflector cable keeps freezing on me, second cable too.
