Does anyone know where a person can get different backhoe buckets? Such as an 8" or smaller for trenching or a 16" for the bigger jobs. As well, what about a toothbar for the FEL ? Does it actually help ? I live in Canada so if anyone knows of any dealers up here that would help on shipping/duty costs.

Thanks

I was just talking about this on another thread. Take a look at Gannon buckets under Woods Equipment. I just put a Woods backhoe on my GC2300 and got 9" and 12" buckets.

Just not sure if a woods bucket will fit on a Massey backhoe....

Not sure if the Gannon bucket will fit the MF but I have a call into my dealer to find out (since they sell MF and Woods).

Buckets smaller than 12" can be difficult to empty in clay soil. I have a
6" bucket for my 2310 and in Ohio it is frustrating to use.

I just bought my 2310 and I priced an 8" bucket from the dealer. I assume it was a MF bucket. I don't recall the exact price, but I think that it was around $370.

Wow that's a little steep in price !? I would like a 6" for trenching and for ripping out roots and stumps. With the smaller bucket I think the machine would "rip" them out easier.... I wonder how hard one would be to make ??

I made my 6", It was not that bad. I just wish it was worth the money
I invested in it. You need to either have someone stand there and unplug
it after almost every bite or get off the machine and do it your self. It
is a hassle.

That is what I have been reading, that a small bucket does not clear very well, but would work good for stumps, roots. I wonder if a hook of some kind would work for that AND for small trenches ( for cable, etc ) ?

How did you go about making your bucket ray66v ?

Ray, would you like to share how you made your BH bucket, I am thinking of making a 12" for digging footers.
