So have a GC2300 with oil in the radiator. Does anyone know if this unit runs hydraic fluid through part of the radiator to help cool it ?

Oil coolers are separate from radiators. Usually in front of the radiator. How much oil are you seeing in the radiator? You had the GC for a long time or just got it? ...
Knowing very little to nothing about your case, I would have to guess you may have a blown head gasket. Many repair shops carry a pressure testing rig for the radiator (or you can get one of your own if you do much work yourself via Amazon around $50. Very easy to use.) Use the pressure test rig to see if the radiator and cooling system are holding steady pressure OR may be leaking down. If leaking, you likely have a blown head gasket. There are other test gear that let you see if combustion is getting into the cooling system etc. Anyway, I would start with the pressure test.

The radiator is strictly for the motor.
The hydraulic oil is clear, the used motor oil should be almost black. Easy to tell where the oil is coming from. If the antifreeze has not darkened, possibly it got contaminated. Wouldn't be the first time someone stored oil in an old antifreeze jug. If it is hydraulic oil, its pretty simple to drain/flush/refill.

as above, if there is oil in your coolant and there is an issue it would be engine oil and caused by a bad head gasket. If this is the case you would likely also see water in your oil. Pressure from the coolant system is more likely to blow coolant into the oil than the other way round.

you positive its actually oil and not just old coolant?
