GC2300 FWD problem

I am getting a knocking form either the hydro or the front axle when in 4wd. Broken gear tooth? I am trying to remove the drive shaft to the front axle. I've removed the blots holding the shaft to the splines at both ends of the axle. The shaft is moving but not enough. How do remove the drive shaft?

Had same problem- see post # 124837, page 16 of threads (last post 11-27-08), under "What do you think I broke".

To make a long story short--get a manual, "soft gears", Massey did cover all parts, ( I did the labor). Not difficult!!

Now has over 100 hrs since repair, no problems!

Tractor was totally out of warranty, time and hours.
