Gc1725 lift problems help!

Please help. I am trying to help my husband. He is so busy. We have a massey ferguson gc1725. We have attached a mower to it. Got all the attachment locations figured out. Pto shadt works great. The tractor we bought was used and our first. The lift lever is not working. We have identified the section having problems but I can't find how to fix or even trouble shoot it. Is there any ideas or specifics I can throw at my husband to ask him if _____ is engaging or working to help identify and fix the problem? It has enough hydronic fluid and lubrication are great. He already did all of that through the tractor. The back hoe worked just fine when attached. It's just the lifting of the mower to fun it that is not working at all.

check the lock and speed levers that are under the seat by the floorboards.
They adjust lift and will likely be set slow or in lock.

Is your mower a center-mounted, under-tractor "belly" mower or a Three Point Hitch (rear) mounted mower of one type or another?

lift speed will in no way be affected by turning the knob to adjust drop speed.
i would say you removed the backhoe and did NOT cross connect the blue-blue/yellow hoses. That can, and will, break your whole lift/drop system.as well as ruin your transaxle.

That's a new thought. Thank you!!! We will check that later today. I have been going over all that I can to figure this out.

I agree with Dave -- it sounds as though the connections are not correct or are incomplete.

When you remove the backhoe, you end up disconnecting THREE hoses, but TWO of those hoses need to be connected to each other after the backhoe is removed. The third hose just hangs there unconnected (fasten it up out of the way, however).

Note also that the 3-point hitch system is the same system that raises & lowers a mid-mount mower (as well as 3PH implements).

Usually the hoses have colored nylon tie-wraps on them for identification, but they could have fallen off. If they're there, connect hoses with like-colored tie-wraps.

The two hoses that get connected together (called the "return loop") will, obviously, be equipped with one male and one female quick coupler. On my tractor, that one hose that does double duty has two colored tie-wraps on it, one indicating its BH connection and one indicating return loop connection.

It does. We didn't get a chance to get the tractor yesterday but will today. We don't have the hoses connected at all that I am aware. Thank you so much!! Hopefully this is our missed step. Thank you the explanation. I can understand that and can know for the future uses.
