Hi guys,

We recently pulled the trigger on a DK55 with a cab on it after doing some searching on here and asking around. So far we love it but there is something bothering me. Before it goes to the dealer for the block heater I figured I'd join here and ask cause it looks like there's a lot of knowledgeable people.

When I was playing around with it I was engsging the diff lock. I could feel and clearly see when it was engaged however the corresponding light on the instrument panel didn't go on... after that I noticed that many of the lights towards the left hand side don't turn on when you first turn on the key to start the tractor. I took off the cluster and checked the bulbs but they're all ok. I even plugged the known working 4wd bulb into the diff lock spot and it didn't work. I've also noticed there are a couple of small harnesses not connected to anything but I'm thinking those are just for options this tractor never had. I attached a couple pics of the harnesses regardless. But if anybody could help me with the gauge cluster lights not working that'd be great. 20161223_122511.jpg20161223_122529.jpg

Dunno how electrically knowledgeable you are, but are you getting 12V to all the bulbs? Not familiar with that machine, but often all (or most) bulbs share a +12 common, and the other side is grounded to turn the bulb on. Maybe a cracked circuit board trace in the common between the left and right side lamps?

A little update actually... the PTO light does work which is second from far left. Also after doing some reading on here it seems the diff lock light is only for machines that would have an electronic operated lock. There is one bulb missing though which is the oil pressure I believe. I have some experience with wiring, I'll test the voltages as you suggested, it seems like a couple still aren't working because according to the manual most of those lights should be on and testing when you first turn the key on. Only the battery light and the one next to it left come on and test on startup.

I have a 2005 DK 45 snf I have had it for 3 years. I noticed similar problems. What I found out is that different models have different options. The instrument panels are universal, as are the harnesses. So you ave to determine what exactly is on your model. Once establishing that I took the panel out and cleaned all of the contacts, there was some corrosion, put the panel back in and all lights that were supposed to work did. Drove down a paved road on ag tires and my left signal light stopped working. I haven't had a chance to tear it apart again but will do so mainly to familiarize myself with the panel because I have some additions I want to put on the harness and to check the bulb. If your tractor is new you should be able to get a definitive list of what options and therefore what lights should be working. One experienced owner advised me to get what I need working and not to worry about the rest which makes a lot of sense. I don't spend hours in the saddle nor do I make my living with it so go with what is important makes total sense to me.
