I made an oil pan gasket for my Allis Chalmers C last winter. I got a sheet of synthetic cork material from NAPA. So far, no leaks. The people at NAPA are very knowledgeable, and help you choose the right material.
As Paul says get some gasket sheet stock from the local auto parts store - also get a tube of blue Permatex gasket cement to hold it in place and seal better. I have done this on my CC rear tranny housing seal and it holds up well.
Thx guy , I've picked up a sheet of cork to make my new gasket. My only concern now is that the motor is bolted to the tractor by the oil pan will this put to much stress on the cork gasket and cause it to fail. The motor is a kohler magnum 10 hp
For the past many years I have used the Manila folder from file cabinet. for the thin material like waterpump to fuel pump Ect. A sharp knife and usually holds fine. Thicker gasket like valve cover or pan I use the cork material from NAPA. Save the unused parts in shoe box then will never need.
