Gas powered Tesla

Would that make it an expensive Prius?

Don't know of any stock Prius that can get to 60 MPH in 3.1 seconds.

WoW the New Prius model is now much quicker than the old ones 10.5 seconds to 60

Now with a blistering 7.1 to 60 MPH time so still takes 4 seconds longer than a stock Model S

I'll stick with my 7.6 second C-Max that I can refuel in about 15 minutes, every 3-400 miles. Oh, and it cost 1/3 of a stock Model S

Yeah, I'm gonna buy a used Tesla and a used push lawn mower and an alternator from the wrecking yard so I can avoid charging stations while I drive my Tesla cross country. I'm sure I can make a kluge system with a potentiometer so that the old alternator puts out the correct voltage. The current will be low so it will take all night to charge the Tesla. I'm sure the lawnmower engine will be loud so I will just wear earplugs. I guess I will need to find someplace out of the way to park so the engine running all night won't bug anybody. Really though, a lawnmower engine just isn't practical because they are all really lousy when it comes to cost of fuel used per watt. In fact, there is no stationary engine and generator combo that can be towed by a Tesla that comes close in efficiency to the power delivered by even the smallest power station. And this is why electric vehicles make sense.

Depends on what is going on each day for me.

Picking up hay is coming up soon
I will stick with my Cummins powered HD trucks when hauling or needing the bed for large heavy items

The Model Y for the rest when not cruising the hotrods, like days when the forest fire smoke rolls in so i can have clean air conditioned air or grocery shopping.

Will be taking the model Y to the big city in a couple days a 200 mile round trip with no need to stop anywhere except my garage to charge. There Are a lot more expenses with a new car especially electric .

Extra tax to register .
More expensive insurance
Buy in cost.
$600 to self install a wall connector to charge.

Power is the cheap part

If I don't count those new car external costs a 200 mile trip will only cost me about $4.50 and will listen to a Great stereo in near silence for the trip 14 speakers with immersive sound.

Nav for the trip displayed if I forget the downtown streets.

My diesel truck which is what we took before even at 25 MPG is about 35 bucks.

While Not as fast as a model S,

3.7 seconds to 60 is plenty quick as is high 11's in the quarter mile for the hatchback grocery getter.

All I know for sure is my Focus RS turbo gets to 100 easily on any e-way on ramp and gets 40+ mpg if I keep my foot out of the hair dryer and it takes about 45 seconds to fill the 11 gallon tank. I'm good with that. At 73, I don't much care about 'blistering acceleration' or top speed, both will get you in big trouble. The clock goes to 150 and I'm sure it will bury it, not that I ever would. I do know it will 'suck the paint off' 9 out of 10 vehicles on the road today. Guy down the road with a Raptor tried to out run me once. He found out real quick when he pizzed me off.
