I was looking to buying the Atlas 9KOHX 9,000 lb 2-post car lift. I was looking at BendPak but the lifts are pushing $6k for the same lift while the Atlas is $2,500.

There is a company "Heavy Lift Direct" that allows direct pickup at its warehouses. So that saves $400 on shipping.

My garage slab is 6" thick and 5,000 psi. Specs are 4" thick and 3,500 psi.

Any pros/cons with this Atlas lift?

My only comment simply because I don't have one is... You always get what you pay for with a name brand product and I'd not want to be underneath any vehicle up on a bargain lift.

Bendpak is the recognized leader. I'd bite the bullet and buy that.

Find out if the lift in question is certified and by whom. Your concrete should be thick enough for the lift. Personally I'm looking at having a 10,000 pound two post lift installed.

I have the atlas 10k extra wide version no complaints with it. My slab is 8" with fiber and mesh. Took about 4 hours to setup. Had it delivered to wife's work because they had a loading dock,it saved me couple hundred on shipping. I've had screw cab long bed with a diesel on it no problem.

I'd love a lift, but at 72 not worth it now.
I've had a Fisher pneumatic lift similar to this for many years that's always worked well. I still use 6 jack stands (overkill), 3 each side before getting on creeper though. I'm thinking about making ramps recently using PT 2x12s, 6ft, 4ft, etc stacked for low (Mustangs) car.

I was also looking at the Atlas 10k lift that is ALI Certified but its more $$ at $4800

started to pull the trigger on an atlas, but got a deal on a Forward 10 K lift.
Only draw back of 2 post lifts is, It takes time to get the arms set right before you lift.

What model and what did you pay?

Dannmar comes from the same company as Bendpak, and at a lower price.

I don't know the actual model number, but it's a 10K 2 post lift by Forward.
Like you, I was looking at an Atlas brand. At that time, Greg Smith out of GA. was the distributor for Atlas equipment. Same place I had purchased my tire machine from.

I have a couple of friends that have auto repair shops, and asked them who they used to repair/install their lifts. I contacted this person, and told him my plans.
Just before I had the concrete poured, he contacted me and told me he has just taken this lift out of a GM dealership where they upgraded to a 12K lift , and he would sell and install the lift for $2500.00

I was told by a business person that BendPak lifts are made in China and that they rebrand that style of lift. The same factory rebrands that lift and different manufacturers put their name on it.

Looks like BendPak & Dannmar come out of the same factory in China. The Dannmar is ALI Certified also. Online it appears the D12-10A Assymmetric 2-post 10,000 lb lift is $4,100 delivered. Not too bad of a price.

I'm happy with my Dannmar, and have been for about 12 years now.

Just wish I'd bought a wider 10K instead of the 9K.

I bought a used one from the local Costco garage: Challenger Twin, 10K. It had been miswired with an incorrect relay and a few tech's got shocked. I had my shed floor repoured with steel & higher stress etc. I even store my mowers on it when not in use. Also good for pulling stuck pto shafts apart, mounting loaded tires onto the tractor, etc.
I recommend buying at least 2 adjustable tall jack stands for extra support. An F350 7.3 crewcab with an almost full fuel tank has a very disturbing pitch frequency...

When bought my lift 20 years ago I looked at several makes then my BIL mentioned Mohawk. It was very pricy at the time $5k but I have a 3/4 ton diesel pickup & the thought of working under an overrated import lift scared the crap outa me.
I’ve see take outs on face book on occasion & I would rather buy a used quality lift because you never know who’s going to be working under it!!

My 2cents.

If you watch some of the auto mechanic shows on motor trend tv, they use Bendpak brand lifts.
I have noticed on those shows that some if not all of the Bendpak lifts use a chain where my Forward (by Rotary) lift uses only cables no chains. you can google the differences if you haven't done so. I thought all were cable lift until I bought mine and found out differently

I've made low ramps out of 2x12's. Any hydraulic/electric system would require a reinforced concrete pad and a 15K lift. Too much $$$ for any use I could need.
