I have a mid 80s Kabota G5200 that has very loose (sloppy) steering. I don't see any way to replace the steering gear at the bottom of the Steering wheel shaft short of removing the engine. If anyone can help steer me (no pun intended) to fix this problem easily I would appreciate it. Thanks

I know that a member here, LTEnterprises, has replaced the steering parts you speak of, on his G5200, got the parts from Carver Equipment and he didn't have to remove the engine, I'll see if I can get him to respond.

it's not bad at all, take the fiberglass deck off, remove the battery, remove the mowing deck, steering wheel and replace. The parts come with the whole steering shaft, and plate with the driven gear. you will have to jack the front end up to pull the shaft out ( I THINK I cant remember if it came up and out or out the bottom )...you'll be GREATLY suprised that the kit comes with EVERYTHING you need, including the sealed bearings for the shaft...HTH
