I bought a FX225D from a dealer in TX for $8450 with a loader and box blade
Did I get a good deal? Or did I get suckered? He had a price on it of $9800 to begin with. Is this a good tractor? What about parts? Will I be able to find them if I need them? It was a spur of the moment decision to buy this thing for my husband. All the throddles and gears are in foriegn language. I figured I might of messed up!!!!

I am not familiar with such a model; others here might be. We have access to the largest aftermarket parts catalog there is for Yanmar tractors...I just searched it and that model does not come up.

I realize it's late, but I am just curious as to why you wouldn't post this question before buying? Also...if the "dealer" had 9800 on it and sold it to you for 8450 what's the justification for the original price? If this is really a dealer he should be able to supply you with parts, a parts book, and so on. There is no good reason for a dealer not to change all the decals....they are available, and all our units get new english language decals. Hopefully others here will have more opitmistic information for you.

As Wayne said why would ask questions about a product (in this case a tractor ) after your purchase. Parts for some models are hard to come by. The dealer should have replaced all non english decals & went over all parts of the tractor with you. Did you get a good deal??
Well if your dealer can't support you & you have a hard time getting parts for this mod. You have answered your question

Are you sure it's not a FX255D? My Yanmar has all the decals in Japanese, like most Yanmars I see around, and I personally don't have a problem with it. You learn pretty quicky what each control does. The good thing is that it's not expensive to buy decals in English if you so wish.

I'm sure you had the best intentions in purchasing this for your husband, and you wouldn't be the first to buy on impulse (me and my wife included). I've come home on several occasions and my wife has surprised me with a large purchases, the first being a brand-new ride-on mower (brought before the tractor - yes in hindsight we should have just brought a tractor), then a cement mixer, etc.

Thankfully my Yanmar experience has been a positive one, probably through luck more than anything else. I brought mine from a private seller, it looked a bit beat up, and at the start I didn't have any knowledge of tractors. After learning what all the knobs and levers do (from a quick demo from that previous owner and reading this forum), the tractor has been fantasic, reliable and very useful in many situtations. And I don't even have a front loader...

And since owning a Yanmar tractor, many of my boating friends tell me that Yanmar make the best small diesel engines. Don't know if it's true, but I'm certainly a very happy Yanmar owner.

So if the deal is done, the deal is done. I hope your husband will have many years of (trouble free) fun with it. :)

Welcome to the forum.

My book does not show a FX225D and I have never seen one, but I have seen plenty of FF225D's.
