Full Synthetic Hydraulic Fuel

Never heard of it I just use Kubota super udt2 or Mobilfluid 424......:)

I have in my tractor. I have a lot of their other synthetic lubricants too. Great stuff. (I don't own stock or work for them...)

I don't know why a full synthetic hydraulic fluid is needed unless you live somewhere north where it gets very cold and you do not have an underbelly heater.

The hydraulic fluid isn't going to degrade. It's sorta like power steering fluid. How many actually replace it short of about 100k miles? In most cases, it isn't synthetic.

Recalling, been awhile so this may be a bit fuzzy, my 2011 Silverado 1500 came with a 100k mile power train warranty and nowhere in the owner's manual schedule of maintenance activities is there a reference to change tranny, differential, or PS fluid. The schedule is inclusive to 100k mi. I guess they went full syn and got rid of those hassles.

Don't recall any HD notes as I don't use mine in HD situations so I skip over those parts of the manual. I was pulling my boat yesterday, not that big of a load and tranny has "Tow-Haul" button extending the shift points to higher rpms, and checked the tranny temp at 167F max in 90-95* weather. It does have a tranny oil cooler, like some tractors have hyd. coolers and I guess some have oil coolers too. My 6530 has a hyd cooler.

Had a VW Cabrio 5M. It was sealed.

Have put synthetic into the Miata's 6M. Don't plan to change it again.

Will need to change the differential because it is limited slip, and stuff from the clutches get in the fluid.

On your tractor, if you put synthetic hydraulic fluid in, I'd only change the hydraulic filter if you never remove any of the hydraulic couplings and have put a strange implement into the system.

Guess I cooked up a reason to use synthetic hydraulic or transmission fluid. Works if you don't have or can change the hydraulic filter without draining the system.

There can be several reasons to use a synthetic fluid in any equipment that gets worked or the best service and protection is desired.
Most of the time a synthetic fluid can handle high and low temperatures better with less viscosity change.
Most provide better lubrication and a longer service life.
They can handle overloads better.
The life and behavior of wet clutches and brakes cab often be improved with synthetics.
In cold areas they can be the difference in starting or not quite often, especially when heated storage is not available.
My power shuttle tractor would not start in -20 weather without a premium hydraulic fluid as the shuttle took more power to run then the starter had available after cranking the engine.

I use standard Kubota UDT hydraulic fluid in my 2009 Kubota M6040. It sits out in a carport stall when not in use. It has started up - just fine - down to the lowest I've ever seen here.... -20F. The local Kubota dealer recommends the synthetic stuff in equipment that have hydraulic motors.

I have a trickle charger on the battery in the winter. No need for any other starting assists.

Actually - when/if it ever does get that cold ( -20F ) I have no reason to be outside. I'm retired and have no need to be plowing snow at those temps. I have no livestock to feed. A big mug of hot chocolate, laced with Jack Daniels - look out the bay windows at the frozen wonderland.
