Hello, I have replaced all the filters in the fuel system and it still stops after a few minutes running. There appears to be something blocking the outlet in the fuel tank, it flows again after I blow air through the hose. Is there any way of clearing this without taking the tank out? If I have to take the tank out is there instructions anywhere on the net. It looks like a complicated procedure. thanks to anyone who can help.

Cheers
Dave

Do you have fuel flow if you remove the filler cap? Although it hasn't happened on my BX, I have had the vent on the cap get plugged on other tractors. If no air can get in, no fuel gets out.

Good luck.

The fuel cap is OK, it allows air in. The problem still exists with or without the fuel cap in place.

A set of shop manuals might help, I think Kubota calls them Work Shop Manuals. I would guess it looks harder than it really is to pull the tank. I think the fenders have to come off.

You have probably checked, but is the electric fuel pump working? You should hear it clicking if you turn the key on but don't start it.

That is why I thought I would ask if there is a better way, it looks like an arduous task. The fuel pump is OK, thanks for the suggestion.

Should not take much over an hour to remove the tank.

I done a bx a few years back and there was not much to it.

you might want to consider trying a suction-type oil changer--- the kind used for i/o boats.
Usually, the suction tube is small, to run down a dipstick tube, but you could replace it with a larger hose.

If you then place the suction hose directly on the bottom of the tank where the fuel flows out and create the suction, it should draw your debris up into the holding tank. You might need to try a couple of times.

Just a thought...

The suction idea might work well. Have you removed the fuel from the tank yet and can you see any sludge on the bottom of the tank?

I don't know if it is applicable, but when I had the same problem with my tractor (engine losing power after 20-30 minutes), emptied the tank, took off the fuel tank valve and found a small screen on top of the valve that looked like it was covered in gummy bears. Cleaned off the screen and tractor has been fine since. I don't know if Kubotas have that type of setup inside the tank.
