Hi-I have a TN60da, about 10 years old with about 210 hours on it. The plastic cap for the diesel tank has always fit tight to the point I can only turn it about 1-1/2 turns if I expect to get it off again. Any advise about how to lube it, petroleum jelly, dry lube, ???, new fuel cap?? The threads are not damaged on the lid or the tank in any way that I can tell, it's just tight. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Bill

I'd use a little grease on the threads. I have the opposite problem on my tractor. My cap goes on easy but hard to get off to refill. Sometimes had to use large pliers to start it moving. I put grease on the threads and around the top to make it a little easier. Haven't had to use the pliers since. I know I'm getting older but not that old.

George2615-Thanks for the reply, grease does seem a reasonable thing to use and I will give it a try. Bill
