VP racing gas cans, VP racing fuel containers

Anybody use these for fuel? I saw one in my local auto parts store today and it looks like an awesome alternative to the "green" safety cans available. A little expensive but worth it if they work well, seam pretty simple, looked like pipe threads so easy to maintain. I have a skid tank and pump for diesel but we are still running a couple of gasser tractors and always seams like I get caught in the field needing a little diesel fuel when the tank is setting in the barn. Might try a couple unless I hear bad news about them.

I just read that entire post and found nothing on VP racing fuel cans, although I did re-live a lot of my experiences fueling my tractors. I go through my fair share of fuel and have tried most everything going for methods. I was simply looking for reviews on the VP racing fuel containers.

I haven't used them myself, but I've seen quite a few sitting around motocross tracks.

If you know any MX guys (or other racers) local to you, they may have used them. These cans aren't approved in the normal sense ("NOT a portable fuel container as described by ASTM, EPA, ARB or other state or federal agencies." ) - but that shouldn't give you much grief on the farm, esp. if you get your fuel delivered.

That said, with my experience with Murphy, I'd store these cans in a separate small shed - I'd hate to give an insurance company an excuse if you did have a fire claim.

I do like the square can format, and anything is better than the bubble-wrapped-kidz version of today's "approved" cans.

If you try 'em, please post a review - plenty of folks are fed up with the new cans.

I have them and love them, I replied to some post somewhere about getting fuel jugs from racing suppliers but can't find it. There are many brands available not just the ones with VP stickers. On the sprintcar team i help with we carry 12 to 14 at all times, some round and some square there all pretty much indestructible.

Found this link yesterday in that other thread thats linked above, ordered 3 packs to try on some older hardware store style fuel jugs and one newer epa diesel jug.

EZ-POUR

I tried those EZ-POUR spouts. I don't know what kind of cans they might work on, but whatever it is, I don't have any. On one can, it seemed to fit, but when you try to pour, gas comes out everywhere. I'm hunting for some usable cans so I'll check out these VP cans.

Tessiers: I have four of them, they are great. I saw one of the round ones in a convience store of all places & bought one. Worked so good went back & got three more. They have a long fill hose with a built in filter, or you can take that off & put on the cap for when needed. They also have a vent with a screw on cap. Without a doubt, best fuel can I've tried since the EPA regulated "crap cans". No leaks, fast filling. Good luck, hope that helps. BTW, paid 25.00 for mine, well worth it.

I have 3 of these race jugs, one with a clear hose. I also have a large funnel, you can insert a house water sediment filter in the middle to filter if needed. These type race funnels will take fuel fast enough to remove the cap and flip the jug over, they empty in just seconds.

That's what I wanted to hear, I think they told me about $30 with the spout. I figure if they empty fast that's less time to hold the can, I just set them on the hood anyways, I don't have trailer queens.

Thanks All I will post my opinion after I get one or 6 or 8.
