Hi all, New to this forum and tractoring.
I have a little land that I bought this ol Ford for and so far things are real tough.
I wont bore you with it all but right now I have it sitting on a jack stand with a tire( not the same as other side) with a flat.
How do you change it out as it has an inner tube( even though tire says Tubeless)
Can the local boys change it or is this a do it at home?
It is one thing after another on this thing so patience is in the bud can.

Any tips, help adive would go a long ol way here

Thank you

I had a Fordson-Dexta which is about the same as an 8N. After working in thorn tree infested areas, I'd have 10 - 15 punctures every week. Regular tire shop would patch up the tubes on a regular Saturday morning schedule :) Had so many patches that the tubes were almost totally covered with patches.

In case you're wondering, the final solution was to replace the front tires with airplane recaps - 18 ply tires. Those ran about $85/each, and it didn't really matter whether or not they had air in them or not.

You have three choices. Replace tire.repair tube or put in new tube. You can put tubes in any tubeless tire. Many folks just put in new tubes. If you can get tire off tractor and either do the work yourself or go to tire shop that's willing to work on it. For me... If I didn't have a tire changer, I would use a bottle jack or farm jack and put it between hitch of truck and bead edge of tire. Jack it and pop the bead. Replace tube and reinflate.

You may need a tube even in a tubeless tire if the rims are in rough shape. I've had a tire put on a 5.0-15 rim for $5, it's not worth the trouble doing it your self... which of coarse I tried first, and damaged the $13 new tube in the process... so I spend a couple hours cursing, sweeting, and did $13 damage; then had a guy do it for $5 in about 5 minutes

some places will not do larger rear tractor tires. there equipment can't handle the larger rear tires and they may not have the tools.

smaller front tires on tractors more likely any local tire place can deal with them. due to roughly same size as a car or truck tire.

word of warning, clean the tire up from any mud, dirt, oil and/or grease. some places will out right refuse you if you do not. a cleaned up tire makes there job easier. and if tire is a messy dirty thing some shops might charge you extra as well.

a small front tire for an 8N really doesn't cost that much compared to larger rear tractor tires. it might be well worth paying for a new tire and new tube that is same size as the other front tire.

tubless vs non tubless. my approach just get a tube installed new or patched. it has made my life easier. of getting flats due to bead not setting correctly for tight seal on the rim. or nocking tire into something in the woods or what not and nearly ripping tire off of the rim. tube has saved me. even if it means bring out an 12v air pump to pump tire up quickly and getting it back to the shed. vs having to work on the tire in some ugly hard to work in place.
