front seal on axle below elbow on John deere 3320 repair

Good afternoon has any one replaced the seal that is below the elbow on the front axle. And was it a big job. Thanks for any info you may have. Greg

Final drive cover can be removed from axle w/out taking anything else apart (well except the wheel obviously). Just take out the bolts from that cover (housing that supports hub shaft and final drive bevel gear). The cover is glued/sealed so probably have to pry off and then make sure you use a good sealant to re-assemble. No special tools should be needed beyond snap ring pliers and since not doing any bearings or other iron you will not have to re-set end play or backlash.
