I am looking to replace the tires on my newly purchased 4100 HST w/FEL
The current tires are to aggressive, I would like to replace but the
tire dealer indicates that to keep the proper turning rations from front to back
I will need new rims. He does not have a 1 to 1 replacement to offer me.

They existing tire is an ag bar tire 4 x 12

I am looking for a set of rims 23 x 8.50 x 12

Does anyone else have any experience / opinion that they could share.

The rear tires had been swapped out by the previous owner.
They mounted them with new rims at the time with a Titan brand tire.

thanks in advance

Welcome to TBN:D

It is VERY important to keep the proper front/rear ratio tire/wheel combination on the 4WD machines. If the ratio is not correctly maintained, then will will put stress in the drivetrain when operating in 4WD. I would have to look in my manual at home to see what the recomended tire sizes are.

What tires are on the rear now?
What tires do you want for the front?

I am back on this again.

I can not locate the front rear ratio in the owners manual

The current tires on the rear are:

Titan Trac Loader 12-16.5 NHS

The current front tires are:

Bridgestone Farm Service Lug M 5-12.0

The rear were recently replaced by the original owner
prior to the swap there tires tires were:

9.5-16 Bridgestone Farm Service Lug M

Any additional thoughts or advice?

thanks in advance

The front to rear ratio for your 4100 is 1.497. When MFWD is engaged, the front wheels normally turn slightly faster than the rear wheels. This is called overrun. If you do not maintain the proper ratio between front tire static loaded radius and rear tire static loaded radius, your front tires may skip or skid and you may damage your drivetrain. The following formula for calculating overrun is from a Deere service bulletin.

1 - (rear static loaded radius/front static loaded radius x MFWD ratio)= X

If X is between .010 and .050 the tire combination is acceptable.

I have a set of the rims for the R4 tires that came from a 4100. The tractor was in a sitting next to a barn that caught fire, tires either burned or got hot enough to go flat. I dragged it from the owners house to the rear of my garage to remove some of the "still good" parts and was discussing the rims with a friend just this afternoon. If your interested in discussing some sort of deal on them, email me at sandman2234 at comcast dot net. I don't check my email every day, but will get around to it.

Just making sure the rears are six bolt pattern and the fronts are four, right?
