Front Mount

I am looking for a lawn mower with a front mount deck, hydrostatic drive, and rear wheel steering. I know John Deere makes one, does any other company make mowers like this that aren't as expensive as the JDs?

That style mower is normally commercial duty for most makes and they naturally would be expensive. What model Deere were you looking at.

Grasshopper makes a front mount both gas and diesel and Kubota makes a front mount and I think you can still get it in 4WD, don't know how these compare price wise to the JD. My nephew has a JD with a 25 HP Kaw. and I think a 54" front mount deck, mows good but won't go up hill unless he raises the deck to get traction.
