Hello all,
I'm thinking of a front mount snowthrower for my B2920. I will need to do deep snow at times but it is NOT usually wet. I also need to handle the pile from the county road plow, this can get rather deep and heavy. I prefer the wider unit, 60" B2782.

Will the B2920 have any difficulty powering it?

I also want the ability to add/build other attachments to the front hitch(B2733A). Is this hitch some sort of industry standard or is it Kubota specific? Is the shaft that is at the front of the tractor a standard arrangement? Is it the same as the tractor mid PTO (10 spline 31/32")?

Thanks for any advice/info.

About snow blowers:

The front mount snow blowers are set up be
powered by the mid point PTO which operates
at a higher rpm and the speed is reduced for
the blower operation.

The rear PTO is 540 rpm to power the snow blower
using a PTO shaft using a right angle gear box to
power a drive shaft and sprocket for the roller chain
that rotates the cross auger.

Adding an impeller kit from clarences small engines will
improve any two stage snow blowers ability to throw snow
simply due to its mechanical advantage.

The snow blower has shear pins for the impelller fan
and cross auger; a rear snow blower would also benefit
from the protection of a slip clutch PTO shaft which is
something you would want anyway for piece of mind
and its cheap insurance for any rear PTO powered implement.

The open cross augers of "any" snow blower gather huge
mounts snow weighing more than 21 pounds per cubic foot
as it is breaking and shoving all the snow all the time and
it is being pushed to the center and shoved into the impeller
with the tractors forward motion flooding the impeller drum
with heavy snow which is thrown out by the four impeller
paddles which make up the fan.

The impeller fan creates a large amount of heat from
friction while throwing the
snow and also melting from the heat of friction.

The slower you advance the faster the snow is removed
with no plugging and jamming due
to the design using the open auger rather than an auger
using a sealed cylinder/barrel design with a
narrow ribbon as is custom with some single stage used
by some previous garden tractors
like the older original cub cadet tractors.

A solid cross auger with narrow ribbons would be a much
safer and less troublesome design
eliminating any flooding issues and possible injurys with
two stage snow blowers.

A rear mounted blower will use less energy to blow snow than
a front mounted blower and will be easier to purchase during
snow season freom a different supplier of farm machinery
as well as it is a "farm" implement.

An impeller kit can be installed easily on a rear mounted blower as well.

I have a 2782 blower on the front of a B3030. After years of using a rear mount blower the increased productivity, comfort and safety of a front mount is unbelievable. My 63' unit handly out produces my old 72" unit. The front quick hitch is extremely well constructed but useless unless you buy a rotary broom or plow in addition to a blower. Kubota specific. In deep, dense snow, I would not want less HP for the 63" unit than what I have.

I failed mention adding a wireless back up camera to avoid neck strain for the operator-they are less the 150USD at wallhy mart or samurai club.

my apologies for forgetting that item

I highly recommend the B2782. Since my B3030 powers it plenty..... your 2920 should be fine also. The 2782 is considered commercial duty, and you will see that when you take a look at it. The blower is considerably heavier than the narrower, lighter blower for the B series tractors. The blowers, sweepers, snow plows, and Quick Hitch are made for Kubota by RAD Technologies in Canada. Rad also makes front attachments for several other tractor brands, such as New Holland, MF, and others. I've never tried crossing the brands, but I have absolutely no doubt a snow plow for the MFs would fit the Kubota QH. I'd probably double check the PTO rotation before i bought one.

Ductape-

I have the B2781A and have seen the B2782 in person. There is no difference in quality, only width. I suspect you are referring to the BX2750 unit that is available on the B-series, but correct me if I'm wrong.

No doubt you are right...... i'm thinking of the BX 2750.

I bought a 2750d new and for 10 years have run it on my 2001 bx2200. It is barely robust enough for my application but I just repair as I go etc. is the 2781a better? Stronger, thicker steel, no chain to stretch, and will it slide onto the same mounting system? There's one for sale near me and I was thinking of buying it and selling my unit. Also is there a reasonably priced replacement chute control system out there,? Thanks!

B2781A is a much beefier unit.
However it does have a #50 chain that doesn't require much adjustment.
The subframe is not exactly the same, but imagine it could be made to work.
The OE parts most likely exist to mount that blower to a BX.
Chute rotation-some operators mount power window motors for the purpose.
Good Luck!
