Tractor
LS XR4046H
I have a new LS xr4046h tractor and I am not sure if loader is functioning properly. I cannot curl the bucket and raise the loader at same time nor dump and lower at same time. The joystick does allow for this type of dual operation but only one function will work at a time. It is not a self leveling bucket. I had a Kubota that would perform both functions at same time and that seems to be the norm. I did have dealer install the third function valve for a 4in1 bucket. That also does not seem right. If you close the bucket and then roll the bucket down the jaw falls back open. If you close it again it will stay shut until you reopen and then it happens again the next time it is closed. Not sure if adding the third function valve could have caused the loader operation to change? Any input would be greatly appreciated. I am new to this site and I like to figure things out and try to fix them myself (if simple and no money involved) before running back to the dealer. I know it is still under warranty but you can't learn much that way. Other than this it seems to be a nice tractor. Thanks

Yup you have a problem... With your hydraulics and a dealer that doesn't know what they are doing. The second is the bigger problem.
When I have had hydraulic issues like this I had to diagram it out on paper like an electrical circuit to wrap my brain arround the problem.

Do you have a prior baseline on hyd performance? Did problems show after dealer work? -- As for the standard combination motions of the loader, I find that some loader valves dont combine actions as well as others. -- As for the 3rd function, the dealer has left out or mis-installed a critical component. ... Perhaps a piloted check valve? :confused3:

No help here other then to say defiantly doesn't sound right. No experience with ls but once a bucket or grapple is closed it should defiantly stay closed until you open it. With it being new I'd call the dealer and at least ask them if there's something to check or adjust or if they need to get it or send someone

My Kubota doesn't behave like that. I also have a third function hydraulics for the grapple, and they remain closed until I open it.

I do not have a base line to go by. Dealer installed the third function valve before they delivered the tractor and I did not really check the operation of the loader that in depth when looking at them. I did follow the "plumbing" out and it appears to be right. They added the third function valve in the line that left the power beyond port and went back to the control valve for the rear hydraulic connections. Not sure if they had to remove or add something at the power beyond port or not. Maybe I will ask in the LS section and hope someone there can confirm the normal operation of loader without the third function. Be good to know how others work before I call the dealer. Thanks for the response guys. I did find some posts on the internet about having to run tractor at higher RPM"s to get full flow. I generally do not run it very high so maybe I will try that when I get home.

You have to run a full pto rpm to get full flow, but my loader works normally with the tractor just idling. It just operates slowly. There is hardly any difference in the speed at 2200 rpm vs full rpm of 2700. image-3790828102.jpg

When we have installed 3rd function on a loader we tap into the tilt circuit at the cross tube above the bucket.
You should be able to run both joystick functions at the same time. It may have to do with how they tapped into the power beyond.

If you curl the bucket all the way, then open the bucket, does it drift closed, or is it more like it slams closed?
Sounds almost like the dealer used a motor spool valve (which connects the two ports together when its not in use to let a motor spin down).

I suspect you have restrictors in the loader.

Logic says that you should have more flow at higher rpm, and therefore more speed
