Front drive shaft removal on 1983 4x4 1900 ford

Hi!
I would like to fix a drive shaft leak where front drive shaft enters transmission. I tried to fix about 10 years ago but it still leaked after changing seal. I do not have a service manual. On my first attempt I did not remove front axle and I think this was my failure. Trying to remove driveshaft was my problem at that time.

Front drive shaft is inside a sleeve and captured with a splined coupling on each end. To remove the drive shaft, jack/support the front end, remove the 2 pivot trunions that attach the front end to the frame. Roll the front end forward and the sleeve and drive shaft should just about fall down. Not sure but might want to look at the transmission end, there is a oil drain plug. I don't remember if it will lose oil when driveshaft is removed.

Thank you very much for reply. I drained all oil from transmission and cleaned hydraulic filter. I had a loader installed on my tractor so I had to deal with not being able to remove driveshaft. I removed the bottom of my loader frame to allow easier removal of driveshaft and adequate braces to hold loader. I used a hydraulic car jack and a 1 1/2 foot 4x4 to lift tractor frame about just under radiator. I jacked up front of tractor so front wheels were approx 1" off ground. Removed tie rod end by steering pitman arm. Noticed movement on rear pivot, front pivot was ok. I unscrewed bolts in front and back pivots that hold up front axle. The back pivot has dowel alignment pins and I had to pry and air hammer to get them moving out. NOW IS A GOOD TIME TO MARK ORENTATION OF PIVOT TO FRONT DIFFERENTIAL. There are bronze bushings in both pivots. I replaced my rear pivot split bushing. Being a split bushing I used a sharp small wood chisel to get under bushing at split being careful not to hurt journal. I used a piece of bronze and a nail setting punch to get it removed nicely. To install new bushing I used a hydraulic press and old bushing to push new in. I also replaced the large O rings which were non existent. I had about 1/16" revel on both sides of new bushing in pivot journal. The "O" is the seal for bushing to keep dirt out of it. I have enclosed some pictures, I should have bought bolts with shoulders on them rather than all thread, I actually ground some threads away so they would slide through pivot bracket holes easier. I used the longer bolts from back drop box for proper alignment. I replaced all orings and seals on driveshaft and drop box. When installing driveshaft lubricate all O rings and seal before prying in the driveshaft. I will post some numbers of seals however I bought mine through Messicks for I did not have numbers until I got everything apart. I still have very very small leak in bottom of driveshaft by dropbox but it is lots better than it was. I replaced all fluids in front axle assembly
