I'm mounting chains on my Kubota L35. On the fronts I finally got them mounted up nice and tight and even but then I noticed that if I turn the wheel all the way the chains rub on the tie rod. Is the solution "just don't turn all the way" or is that likely to cause a problem? I have already spent a lot for 2 link rear chains, rear wheel spacers, and the front chains so I am hoping for a cheap solution.
Thanks,
Steve.

What rubs ? The cam hook or the chains themselves. If it is just the hook sometimes you can put a half turn twist in the chain before you hook them to make the hooks turn in. If you make the twist the wrong way they will turn out of course.

Could it be that the chains come too far down the sidewall, and if so, could the cross chains be shortened to raise the side chains up and away from the tie rod end?

This was the solution for my DK35 front chains. A chain tool is handy for opening and reclosing the cross hooks. I bought a tool because I also modified the rear DUO chains.

The chains themselves rub because it turns so tight the tires nearly rub. It was worst though where the hook was because I had to shorten the chains removing a crosss chain which made this area of the side chains come down further along the side wall. I tired shifting the chains higher on the sidewall but they would still hit and it was difficult to keep them centered and evenly spaced and tensioned. I ended up adding the cross chain back in and re centering everything. Now they are on there very tight and only hit on a full turn. I think I can live with it that way. Someone suggested I can limit the turn but I did not see how, I'll have to get a full service manual. Thanks.- Steve.
