Hi All,
Last year we purchased our little 7 acre farm and we love it. It sat vacant for about 8 years so "bored" isn't in our vocabulary. Our barn is round and is made out of vitrified tile. It needs tlc but is as sound as it was when it was built 98 years ago. My wife has already filled it up with sheep.... and the sheep have filled it up with... well you know!
Today, I was shoveling future garden fertilizer and wishing my tractor (a Mahindra 2816) would fit in the barn so I could do this little chore in a few minutes as opposed to all afternoon. You see, a round barn made 100 years ago for milking cows isn't very tractor friendly, but a garden tractor with a smaller blade on it could work really nicely.
So with that, I started searching Ebay and Craig's list for a used 48" blade for our 1996 John Deere 345. I quickly realized I had no idea what I was looking for. I tried poking around the John Deere site and didn't really have much luck there either.
Can anyone point me in the right direction here? I think I would like to buy something that won't require any modification or fabrication as while I am getting better at welding, I am far for good at it yet. and with the place being vacant for so long, I have plenty of projects already.
Thanks to all for this and all the rest of the great info on this site.
