I've noticed that when I use my 2350 the front axle builds pressure, wondering how hard that is on the front seals?
After cool down it has a vacuum, maybe I should quit checking fluids so often.

Thinking about drilling a very small hole (1/16) through the side of the plug and then drilling up from the bottom of the plug so the holes intersect to make a vent.

What do you guy's think?

Thanks for posting that set up, my plug just pops in and out (no threads) I'm going to try the small hole and see what happens.

You better extend it or you're going to get water & dirt in there.

A question that sounds like an assertion: It the plug just pops in, how much pressure could it actually build?

How does your front axel dip stick pop in and out ? wornout o rings maybe? Mine never moves, and its same axel as yours.

Hi Radioman.
My front axle dip stick screws in, and it is all metal, and has a substantial sealing ring. I muffed my question a little bit, but what I was asking was:

IF the dipstick just pops in and out, how much pressure could the front axle build? I seems (to someone like me that has the screw-in type) that the newer type that pops in/out would put definite limits on how much pressure could develop.

It has no threads to hold it in, it has an "O" ring on it and just pushes into the axle.
After use if I remove it it will pop like a soda can upon opening.
Never has blown out though.

My JD is screwed in, but the axle has a vent hose.

I've got the same problem on my BX24 with only about 250 hrs on it. The axle builds quite a bit of pressure and now I have a leak on the left side. I don't like the way the dipstick plug pops in and out, would much rather have threaded plug with a vent.

Did you try drilling the holes to vent your axle and was it successful? I am thinking of cutting off the dipstick part of the plug and drilling a hole in the center and screwing in some type of tap or vent.
