Hey guys, to clarify-this is my tractor that I sold. Asking this question for the guy I sold it to. He's going to join tractorbynet soon and will be asking his own questions. I never had this problem when I had it. I didn't get to talk to him last week so I don't know how the repair is coming along.

there may be 2 things:
1. you have broken the axle or the spindle
2. Or you have disturbed the alignments of the axle with the shaft.

In both of these conditions, I will not suggest to grab the tools and open it up, instead go for a drive axle repair job at some service shop like axle surgeons (if you are in CA).
