Need some help from you buddies. I´m loosing oil on my front axel gear, on the wheel side. It drops a plenty on the drag-rod end´s side. What could it be?

Jose,
I know very little about your country, maybe just a few basic facts about your location, history, government etc. I do know that there are 17 million people there and that you have survived a horrific cival war, terrible floods and devistation, including some 1 million mines that are still un-exploded.

I understand that your country is now part of the British Comonwealth and wonder if this could be advantageous for someone like you and your position. I would make contacts (friends) with local libraries, parts stores and any agricultural agencies that may contribute information and support.

I am going to make a few guesses here: Your primary language is Portueguese, and probably speak a few others.
You may be 1 in 10,000 that own a tractor, and maybe 1 in 5,000 that have a computer or access to the internet. And since you have a fair grasp of the English language, you just might be able to become a source for your country as "A Tractor Wizard"

Have you tried to find other tractor owners in your country? Is there any way to barter, trade or buy a manual for your 3110B? I think that TBN is THE source for honest, experienced people that want to help you, but I think that there may be much that is lost in translation. If you could get one picture of each problem the replies would come fast and accurate.

I want to help whenever I can, but honestly know very little about your Yanmar model. Good luck, Mark

Yes Mark, you’re almost there. Let me add only that may be is one in 80.000, since all this machine was a old offer from Japan and during the war everything was burn or disappear. We import everything from South-Africa, our neighbor, and I’m now trying to open a farm, but I know few about tractors. I’ve a Yanmar 3110D, which becomes very complicate to fix little things, such oil filter (I’m looking around to find a cross reference to FRAM), and it’s a hard job. Now to finished the fix, I need to know how to repair (I’m doing my self, and I’m a Telecommunication engineer), the front axel gear that are leaking a plenty (see photos in attach). I appreciate if you could help me with your experience. Just remember that most of the parts we make (when possible), locally.

O.K. Jose.
I think I see your problem(s). It appears that the outer most axle seal may be leaking as well as the upper knuckle seal?

If it were me, and I had no parts readily abilable, I would jack up and block tractor safely and remove front wheel, disassemble steering linkage, remove large upper nut on knuckle (probably a few thin shim washers too) put nut back on threaded shaft and gently tap knuckle assembly apart.
(see if your model has a square key, and remove)

You should then be able to see identifing part numbers or sizes (example only: 45mm X 90mm X 20mm. I would clean up everything make notes of sizes and reassemble the front end. This way you can continue to use your tractor while looking for parts. You may be able to add on additional shim to that side which will compress the knuckle slightly more, but it may also make your steering (at the steering wheel) a little harder. Hopefully this will help.

Jose:
If you email me your email address, I will send you a PDF file of a generic manual that has most of the basic Yanmar info to get you started.
