So, this is my first topic on TBN. I've learned a ton over the last year and have enjoyed the variety of discussions across all forums so far.
Starting off by saying I traded in my 200 hour Kubota BX25 for a B3300 with BH. We recently purchased an additional 3 acres of land in a mountainside community and hope to build a home over the next couple of years. The BX was great but I needed something the next level up but still with a relatively small footprint given our two small pieces of land are forrested and agility was very important. I'm very happy with the decision and am impressed with the capability so far.
We have a 700 foot driveway up a slope with a minor switchback that the previous owner built in approx 1998. It's covered in low growth organic material at present and I'll have to figure out what to do with it before building a more formal driveway.
This project will last a couple of years and involve clearing a small portion of the land, winching fallen trees off the slope for processing, doing some stumping, hardscaping, etc. I'll rent a mini ex at some point if needed but for now, I'm enjoying extending my driveway and gaining access to the building area. I'm trying to build a flat platform area that will be used for cutting / splitting / stacking.
Anyway, more to come as things progress but thought I might share with the masses some of the hard work this tractor can do and how the project will progress.
New machine being prepped a the dealer:

Nice and new!

Trailering up in my 7K 16 foot landscape trailer with brakes on both axles. It's a 2.5 hour hilly drive.

Working on a sideslope is not smart so I built a little road with the BH...took from the high side, gave to the low, and smoothed with the bucket:

Not sure what kind of hardwood this is but I plan to split/stack in the coming weekends. It was blown down, rootball and all a couple years ago. It measured 132 feet long on the ground:

There were occasional granite boulders found while digging. These will eventually make a nice retaining wall somewhere on the land:

After about 6 hours on the tractor this weekend, I added nearly 100 feet of 'road' and most importantly, built a work platform that used to be forest. Here is a shot looking out at the top of the 700' driveway.

I hope you enjoyed the pics and the tractor work. This will be a weekend thing for awhile with more tree cutting / clearing, some wood hauling, chipping, splitting, and burning. The snow will be falling in 65 days or so. Here are a couple pics from last winter where you can see a) the view, and b) a bit of the long driveway:
The panoramic in this pic makes it look like there is a valley in front, but there is not.

Straight shot:

Thanks for reading! Now I just need to figure out how to paste these in without linking to Photobucket! Sorry about that....
