He bought a 43 hp model from a dealer in Mt. Airy, NC. He said he saved the Va sales tax and also saved about $1,500 on the tractor buying at the huge dealership in Mt. Airy. He says it's about the biggest in the nation.

He's got 20 acres and recently bought a huge V8 van for his family (shortly to be 4). He likes big stuff. Tried to steer him to thinking about maintaining it himself and to think smaller for this. He's a big guy though. He can handle bigger stuff than I can.

when I read your post title, I expected that your friend would have bought something in the order of a M9000. I guess I don't consider 43 hp a "big tractor". My sons call my 43hp Ford 2120 "Baby" and the 75 hp NH TN75D "Beast". Maybe I need to change my thinking and call the 2120 Beast and the Tn the Monster??? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Just thinking out outloud
